Wild's Scandella fined $2,755 for Oshie hit

Jerome Miron / USA TODAY Sports

The NHL's Department of Player Safety fined Minnesota Wild defenseman Marco Scandella $2,755.38 on Monday for his illegal hit to the head of St. Louis Blues forward T.J. Oshie.

The hit forced Oshie to miss a portion of Saturday's contest, but he returned to finish the game and does not appear to be suffering concussion symptoms.

Scandella will earn $1.15 million this season - more than 400 times greater than the fine.
