The Detroit Pistons were said to be in the market for shooting, which is Jodie Meeks' speciality. He boasts a career three-point percentage of 37.6, and shot a career-high 40.1 percent on 6.3 attempts per game as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers last season.
Given the hefty salary figure, Meeks figures to command a place in the Pistons starting lineup. The deal also dwarfs his total career earnings to date, as the largely unheralded sniper garnered only $5.3 million total over the first five years of his career.
The 26-year-old Meeks averaged 15.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game last season.
