Bears GM denies Fox was in the dark about Trubisky pick

The Chicago Bears shocked a number of people by selecting North Carolina quarterback Mitchell Trubisky second overall in the 2017 NFL Draft, but head coach John Fox apparently wasn't one of them.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported Friday that general manager Ryan Pace didn't tell Fox the club was taking Trubisky until hours before the pick.

Pace refuted that report later in the day, telling Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times that Fox is "involved in every decision" and calling Mortensen's account "so false."

The Bears' quarterback room will be completely different this season, with Mike Glennon and Trubisky as the No. 1 and No. 2 options. After posting a 9-23 mark over his first two campaigns with the club, Fox likely needs one of them to play well in order to keep his job past the 2017 season. That alone suggests Fox was probably involved in the drafting process.
