Allen hopes Chargers won't select WR with No. 7 pick

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen made it clear that he's ready to return to top form after missing the vast majority of the 2016 season with a torn ACL.

Allen suffered the injury in Week 1 and was promptly ruled out for the rest of the campaign.

The 24-year-old figures to be a central part of the Chargers' passing game and said he's progressing well during the offseason.

"I'm feeling real good. Rehab is going smooth, workouts are going smooth. Feeling real strong, feeling better," Allen said Friday during a segment on NFL Network.

The Chargers hold the No. 7 overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft and Allen made it clear that he doesn't want the team to use it on another wideout.

"It's a tough decision, man. A lot of great guys coming out this year. I'm not even sure. Hopefully not a receiver, I don't need to be replaced yet," Allen said.

As the Chargers make their final draft preparations, one has to wonder whether Allen's comments will factor into their decision next week.
