Report: Blount has no plans to sign Patriots' standing offer

Over a month after he hit the free-agent market, LeGarrette Blount doesn't seem to be any closer to re-joining the New England Patriots.

The veteran running back has no plans to sign an offer the team made at the beginning of the offseason, according to Jeff Howe of The Boston Herald.

Recent reports indicated that both sides were interested in a reunion and there was "an offer on the table."

Following a 2016 season in which he ran for a career-high 1,161 yards and a league-leading 18 touchdowns while playing on a one-year, $1-million deal, the 30-year-old is likely holding out for a better offer.

Re-signing Blount presumably remains an option for the New England ground game, but there are still some options elsewhere. Adrian Peterson was at the team facilities for a free-agent visit last week, and Marshawn Lynch has reportedly expressed interest in the Patriots should negotiations with the Oakland Raiders break off.
