Westbrook logs 42nd triple-double to break Big O's record
The Big O stood for five decades before Russell Westbrook came along.
Westbrook logged his 42nd triple-double of the season against the Denver Nuggets on Sunday to break Oscar Robertson's record of 41 established in 1961-62.
He finished the night with 50 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists, along with the game-winning three at the buzzer, to give the Oklahoma City Thunder a stunning 106-105 win over the Denver Nuggets.

The MVP co-favorite found Semaj Christon for a corner three midway through the fourth for his 10th assist of the night to surpass Robertson.
Strangely enough, the Pepsi Center erupted in cheers despite having their lead cut to 10 points by the opposition. Anticipation had been building for Westbrook to break Robertson's record ever since he was one assist shy late in the third quarter. Tension grew with every missed shot off Westbrook's passes until Christon finally made an open shot.
There were no cheers, only silent stunned looks, when Westbrook ended the Nuggets' season with the final dagger.
