With free agents able to officially sign at 4 p.m. ET on March 9, theScore takes a look at the top available players at each position.

Top free agents by position

Tackles

Andrew Whitworth

Age: 35 Height: 6'7" Weight: 330 lbs.

2016 stats: 0 sacks allowed

Even at 35 years old, Whitworth remains one of the premier left tackles in the league. His skills as a pass protector haven't slipped at all, and he presents a great short-term fix for any contender. However, Whitworth has expressed his desire to return to Cincinnati, and the interest is likely to be mutual. Unless a team blows away Cincinnati's offer, Whitworth should get a deal that'll mean he'll probably retire a Bengal.

Potential landing spots: Bengals, Giants, Broncos

Riley Reiff

Age: 28 Height: 6'6" Weight: 305 lbs.

2016 stats: 4 sacks allowed

Reiff played arguably the least impressive season of his five-year career at the worst possible time, and could now face a lukewarm market. The 28-year-old is a solid pass protector, but his failings in the running game could put teams off. While he'll likely benefit from a lack of proven free-agent tackles, returning to Detroit could be his best option. If the Lions let him walk without much of a battle, it could be a warning sign for the rest of the league.

Potential landing spots: Lions, Chargers, Buccaneers, Cardinals, Texans

Kelvin Beachum

Age: 27 Height: 6'3" Weight: 316 lbs.

2016 stats: 5 sacks allowed

Beachum was inconsistent in 2016 for the Jaguars, but that was expected after he tore his ACL the year before. In an average tackle market, teams could look at Beachum as an affordable option who could end up being a steal if he can recapture his 2014 form. At age 27, he has the time to do so.

Potential landing spots: Seahawks, Vikings, Panthers

Matt Kalil

Age: 27 Height: 6'7" Weight: 317 lbs.

2016 stats: 1.5 sacks allowed (played 2 games)

The former fourth overall pick back in 2012 isn't quite a complete bust, but he's close. The only reason the Vikings could look to re-sign Kalil is due to a lack of other options and because he's unlikely to require a large deal. However, he's also coming off a lost season, and he even struggled in his few appearances. It might be in his best interests to take a short-term deal, improve his stock, and try again in 2018.

Potential landing spots: Vikings, Seahawks, Jets

Ricky Wagner

Age: 27 Height: 6'6" Weight: 310 lbs.

2016 stats: 2 sacks allowed

Wagner could be the biggest boom-or-bust offensive tackle candidate on the market. He's a proficient pass protector and a decent run blocker. He could be a massive upgrade for a team with a pass-first offense. However, Wagner followed up a terrible 2015 with a very good 2016, so it's fair to question which player the team that pays out a significant contract to him is getting.

Potential landing spots: Buccaneers, Cardinals, Texans, Seahawks

Guards

T.J. Lang

Age: 29 Height: 6'4" Weight: 318 lbs.

2016 stats: 0 sacks allowed

For teams looking for a premier pass protector, Lang will be the No. 1 choice. Almost unbelievably, the 29-year-old didn't allow a single sack or hit on Aaron Rodgers this past season, which means it's hard to imagine the Packers letting one of their key pieces walk. His age is his only major negative, and it's unlikely his play will begin to decline in the foreseeable future. Lang is about to get paid.

Potential landing spots: Packers, Giants, Colts, Buccaneers

Kevin Zeitler

Age: 26 Height: 6'4" Weight: 320 lbs.

2016 stats: 1 sack allowed

The Bengals need to re-sign Whitworth, but Zeitler should be their priority. Easily one of the top guards in the league, Zeitler will likely command the biggest deal at his position in free agency. Cincinnati should happily open its checkbooks. The 26-year-old is equally strong in both pass protection and run blocking, and is consistently great year to year. He won't match Osemele's numbers, but if the Bengals don't hand him $10 million a year, some team will.

Potential landing spots: Bengals, Texans, Giants, Jaguars, Rams

Ronald Leary

Age: 27 Height: 6'3" Weight: 320 lbs.

2016 stats: 0 sacks allowed

Last offseason, Leary attempted to get traded away from the Cowboys, as he'd lost his starting spot to La'el Collins. But the move never materialized, and when Collins was lost for the season, Leary stepped in and performed at a high level. He has extensive starting experience and is coming into free agency at age 27, which means he's the perfect candidate for a long-term deal. The only question teams need to ask is: How much of Leary's play comes down to the stars alongside him?

Potential landing spots: Vikings, Seahawks, Buccaneers, Jaguars, Panthers

Larry Warford

Age: 25 Height: 6'3" Weight: 317 lbs.

2016 stats: 3 sacks allowed

Warford burst onto the scene in his rookie year, instantly looking like a future star. In the three years since, however, the guard has failed to replicate his first-year form. He enters free agency as a solid option, but with a strong market of guards, he'll likely have to wait for a few dominoes to fall before landing somewhere.

Potential landing spots: 49ers, Colts, Vikings, Seahawks

Centers

JC Tretter

Age: 26 Height: 6'4" Weight: 307 lbs.

2016 stats: 2 sacks allowed

If a team is in the market for a center this offseason, they'd be best to look to the draft, because it might be the worst positional class in free agency. Only Tretter will get picked up to be a slam-dunk starter and even the 26-year-old isn't a great option. Tretter has only started 10 games throughout his four-year career and had the benefit of playing with Rodgers. He looked solid in 2016 before a knee injury ended his year, and shouldn't demand too big of a contract despite the lack of other options.

Potential landing spots: Packers, 49ers, Panthers, Vikings
