Mike DiNovo / USA TODAY Sports

With free agents able to officially sign at 4 p.m. ET on March 9, theScore takes a look at the top available players at each position.

Top free agents by position

Wide receivers

Alshon Jeffery

Age: 27 Height: 6'3" Weight: 218 lbs.

2016 stats: 52 catches, 821 receiving yards, 2 TDs

After teasing superstar potential over the 2013 and 2014 seasons, Jeffery hasn't quite managed to live up to expectations, with injuries, suspensions, and inconsistencies on the field leading to him hitting the open market. However, players with his skill set rarely become free agents, and while the Bears could use the franchise tag on the receiver again, it's likely they'll let him walk. At that point, it's hard to see him re-signing in Chicago, with the strong competition for his services likely pushing his contract into the elite for his position.

Potential landing spots: Bears, Eagles, Rams, Titans, Buccaneers

Kenny Stills

Age: 24 Height: 6'0" Weight: 195 lbs.

2016 stats: 42 catches, 726 receiving yards, nine TDs

Yes, Stills is only 24 years old. The wide receiver market looks strong, but there are few options that have Stills' talent and have also yet to hit their prime. In 2016, Stills cemented himself as one of the league's most dangerous deep threats, with only DeSean Jackson and Chris Hogan posting a better yards-per-catch average than Stills' 17.3. He could be the most in-demand wide receiver free agent, as his contract won't reach Jeffery's level and he could potentially play at a high level throughout a long-term deal due to his young age.

Potential landing spots: Eagles, 49ers, Rams

Terrelle Pryor

Age: 27 Height: 6'4" Weight: 223 lbs.

2016 stats: 77 catches, 1,007 receiving yards, 4 TDs

A prime candidate for the franchise tag, Pryor likely isn't going to leave Cleveland. His first full season at the position was an astounding success. The quarterback-turned-receiver looked like a dominant force for most of the first half of the season, and while his play somewhat declined toward the end of the campaign, he played more than well enough for the Browns to slap the $15.1-million tag on him. Cleveland has over $100 million in cap space to use up, so they can more than afford to force Pryor to prove he's worthy of a big-money extension.

Potential landing spots: Browns

DeSean Jackson

Age: 30 Height: 5'10" Weight: 175 lbs.

2016 stats: 56 catches, 1,005 receiving yards, 4 TDs

While not the game-breaking talent he was in his prime, Jackson proved in 2016 that he's still capable of leaving entire secondaries in his dust. A reunion in Philadelphia makes sense, with Carson Wentz in dire need of a go-to target, as does a return to Washington. In what will likely be the last big deal of his career, Jackson might follow the money.

Potential landing spots: Redskins, Eagles, 49ers, Bears, Rams

Kenny Britt

Age: 28 Height: 6'3" Weight: 223 lbs.

2016 stats: 68 catches, 1,002 receiving yards, 5 TDs

Britt did all he could in 2016 to shed himself of the "bust" label, excelling despite some of the worst quarterback play in the league. The former first-round pick won't be brought in to be a No. 1 target, but any team looking for a solid second option will likely be interested. He could return to the Rams, but if teams with better options under center come calling, it's hard to imagine the pass-catcher re-signing.

Potential landing spots: Rams, Bengals, Redskins, Giants, Buccaneers

Pierre Garcon

Age: 30 Height: 6'0" Weight: 211 lbs.

2016 stats: 79 catches, 1,041 receiving yards, 3 TDs

Garcon doesn't have the name-recognition and the big-play ability of his teammate and fellow impending free-agent DeSean Jackson, but the veteran wideout brings a consistency that teams covet, and likely for a lower price tag. Like Britt, teams will view Garcon as a complementary piece.

Potential landing spots: Giants, Cowboys, Chargers, Ravens, Eagles

Brandon LaFell

Age: 30 Height: 6'3" Weight: 210 lbs.

2016 stats: 64 catches, 862 receiving yards, 6 TDs

LaFell signed a one-year, incentive-laden deal last offseason, and responded with maybe the best year of his career. However, the 30-year-old's market might not be strong, considering the depth of the class, so re-signing with the Bengals is the most likely option.

Potential landing spots: Bengals, Jets, Ravens, Buccaneers
