Top Prospect to Watch in 2017

MLB.com's 18th-ranked prospect, OF Lewis Brinson hit .382 with four home runs and four stolen bases in 23 Triple-A games after being acquired from Texas in the Jonathan Lucroy trade. He'll likely open the season in the minors, but Milwaukee's starting outfielders are either injury-prone (Braun and Santana) or unproven (Broxton), so Brinson could get a shot sooner rather than later.

Who Will Drive You Crazy?

The versatile Perez was an unlikely star last season, homering 13 times and stealing 34 bases. He now appears to be without an everyday role, though, as the newly-acquired Shaw looks set to form the left-handed half of a third base platoon. As well, the free-swinging 25-year-old could come back to earth in the power department - he never hit more than eight home runs in any major or minor league season before 2016.

The One to Own

He won't be the draft bargain he was last year, but Villar's versatility and nearly unmatched stolen base threat (only Billy Hamilton's 58 steals came close to Villar's 62) makes him the Brewer to have. Even if he can't replicate last season's 19 home runs, he has enough pop to be more than a one-trick pony.

Top Sleeper

Santana struggled to stay healthy in 2016, playing just 77 games amidst shoulder and elbow injuries. Seven home runs in September showcased the 24-year-old slugger's potential, and he has a patient enough batting eye to maintain a respectable OBP despite last season's prodigious 32.4 percent strikeout rate.
