The Los Angeles Angels have agreed to a minor-league deal with utility man Eric Young Jr., reports Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times.

He will receive an invite to the team's big-league spring training camp, DiGiovanna adds.

Young, a veteran fielder with experience at second as well as all outfield positions, played six games with the New York Yankees last season, mostly appearing as a pinch runner and a defensive substitution in center.

In 2015, Young played 85 games with the Atlanta Braves and nine for the New York Mets.

The 31-year-old owns a career .246/.314/.327 slash line.
