Wyoming's Josh Allen to return in 2017

Kirby Lee / USA TODAY Sports

Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen isn't turning pro just yet.

Allen will be returning to the Cowboys for his junior campaign, the team announced Thursday. The pivot created some buzz this year after throwing 28 touchdowns and passing for more than 3,200 yards.

At 6-foot-5 and 222 pounds, Allen is the prototypical signal-caller NFL scouts look for, but it could be a wise decision to return to college.

Allen only has one season of starting experience under his belt, and with the likes of fellow quarterbacks Mitch Trubisky, Deshaun Watson, and DeShone Kizer already announcing their intentions to go pro this year, his stock might be better in the 2018 draft.
