Report: Arsenal's Jenkinson sighted by numerous clubs for loan deal
Arsenal's Carl Jenkinson is subject of interest from various Premier League and Championship clubs over a loan deal to begin in January, reports ESPN FC's Peter O'Rourke.
The right-back has only made one top-flight appearance this term - a 1-1 draw at Manchester United in November - and even during Hector Bellerin's recent layoff with an ankle issue, failed to earn first-team recognition over Mathieu Debuchy and Gabriel Paulista, the latter a centre-back by trade.
Among those interested in a temporary deal for Jenkinson include West Ham United - where he spent half of last season on loan before sustaining a serious knee injury - Stoke City, Sunderland, Watford, Burnley, and also Aston Villa of the Championship.
Reported interested party | Current right-backs |
---|---|
West Ham United | Sam Byram (injured); Alvaro Arbeloa |
Stoke City | Phil Bardsley (injured); Glen Johnson |
Sunderland | Billy Jones; Javier Manquillo; Jason Denayer |
Watford | Daryl Janmaat; Juan Zuniga |
Burnley | Matthew Lowton; Jon Flanagan |
Aston Villa | Leandro Bacuna; Alan Hutton; Micah Richards; Ritchie De Laet |
The 24-year-old, who joined from Charlton Athletic in 2011, signed fresh terms in north London until 2020 last year.
