Report: Burfict fined $75K for stomping on Blount's leg
Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict has been fined $75,000 for stomping on the leg of New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount, according to Zac Jackson of Pro Football Talk.
Reports surfaced earlier in the day Wednesday indicating that the Bengals weren't anticipating another suspension for Burfict, but a fine was to be expected given his history of safety-related infractions.

An appeal of the discipline has already been filed, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The apparent stomp was just one of two incidents involving Burfict that was under league review from this past week, as he also dove into the knees of Martellus Bennett on a play in which the tight end wasn't the intended receiver.
As Jackson's report adds, citing a letter sent to Burfict from the league office, the substantial fine is only for the stomp of Blount's leg.
Burfict served a suspension for the first three games of the 2016 season for repeated violations of the NFL's player safety rules.
