Todd Graham defends Arizona State against signal-stealing claim

Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

Arizona State head coach Todd Graham says his team is not breaking any rules, despite accusations of sign stealing. This is the second straight year the Sun Devils have been accused of the practice.

"We take a great deal of pride with the integrity our program has," Graham told reporters Tuesday. "Make it perfectly clear: We do everything exactly by the rules. Period."

The claims stem from comments Washington State head coach Mike Leach made Monday.

"I think they still steal signs, and we'll have to keep an eye on that," Leach said. " ... That is a very unsavory practice they have, so we'll have to make sure our signals are safe."

Both Oregon and Utah complained last season ASU had been stealing signs, with Graham stating it is not against the rules and other teams try to steal the Sun Devils' signs as well.

Leach sparked greater controversy in suggesting ASU has a command center and uses microphones and cameras to help crack opposing teams' signals.
