An MRI revealed Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin will miss around three weeks due to a hamstring injury suffered in Sunday's defeat to the Arizona Cardinals, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The Bucs have a Week 6 bye, so it's likely the club will hold Martin out until then to afford him extra time to recover.
It means Tampa Bay will be without the veteran back for two marquee matchups, Week 4 against the Denver Broncos and Week 5 against the Carolina Panthers.
Fantasy Fallout: Charles Sims headed for three-down role with Doug Martin out
Charles Sims is set to be given the bulk of the carries in Martin's absence, with Jacquizz Rodgers and Peyton Barber acting as change-of-pace backs.
