The Boston Red Sox plan on sending off Big Papi in a big way.

Instead of honoring David Ortiz with a single pregame event like every other team in the majors, the club announced Monday it will celebrate the 10-time All-Star over the course of the final home-weekend series of the regular season when they host the Toronto Blue Jays.

The team will recognize Ortiz's 14-year career with Boston, including his impact on the organization and the city, while also thanking him for aiding the club to three World Series titles.

To add on to the celebrations, Red Sox players will wear commemorative Ortiz patches on their jerseys and caps.

In his final season, Ortiz is batting .315/.403/.622 with 32 home runs, and a career-high 45 doubles and 1.025 OPS.
