Baldwin expresses solidarity with Kaepernick in multi-tweet thread

The Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers are sworn rivals, but Doug Baldwin is proving that some issues transcend sporting clashes.

Baldwin expressed solidarity with Colin Kaepernick's protest over police brutality and oppression faced by African-Americans, and voiced his stance over multiple tweets Friday.

Baldwin pointed out that while soldiers fight for their compatriots' rights to free speech, Kaepernick, among others, is being ostracized for exercising it.

Baldwin also said those who believe that Kaepernick's protest is an attack on the military have missed the point of his challenge.

Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane also sat down during the national anthem Thursday, effectively joining Kaepernick.
