Brandon Guyer may have a lot of bruises, but at least he can say he's in the record books.

The Cleveland Indians outfielder was hit for the 28th time this season Sunday against the Texas Rangers, placing him second on the single-season hit by pitch list among American League players.

Since 2015, Guyer has been hit a major-league leading 51 times, with Chicago Cubs Anthony Rizzo behind him with 44. According to MLB.com's Jordan Bastian, Guyer's been hit in six percent of his at-bats during his five-year career.

That's the highest rate in baseball since 1921 among players with at least 500 career plate appearances. Guyer says it doesn't mean he will change his approach.

"Some people say you should try to work on not getting hit," Guyer told Bastian. "But, if I went up there thinking, 'If it's in, get out of the way,' it'd take away from my hitting. I'd be thinking about moving away from inside pitches, instead of trying to see the ball and hit the ball. If I were to do that, I think my hitting would suffer. So, I try to roll with it."
