Free-agent safety Stevie Brown, who was released by the Kansas City Chiefs on Wednesday, is set to visit the Carolina Panthers, reports Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
The Panthers are apparently looking for veteran help in their secondary, with Donte Whitner also reportedly set to work out for the club.
Kurt Coleman and Tre Boston are entrenched as Carolina's starting safeties, but there is a definite need for depth behind them.
Brown has struggled to replicate his stellar play from the 2012 season, in which he had eight picks and 76 total tackles for the New York Giants.
He sat out the 2015 season after being cut by both the Giants and the Houston Texans.
