Yulieski Gurriel experienced everything in his first major-league game on Sunday.
The Houston Astros 32-year-old rookie recorded his first hit in his first at-bat before leaving the game with right hamstring tightness, according to manager A.J. Hinch.
After the game, Gurriel told reporters he doesn't believe the injury is serious and that he would be able to play Monday against Pittsburgh, but Hinch refuted that, saying he was considering giving him the day off regardless.
Gurriel was signed to a five-year, $47.5-million dollar contract by Houston on July 16. He hit a combined .290/.273/.484 over nine games in Houston's minor-league system.
