Iowa State QB Zeb Noland out for season with knee injury

Steven Branscombe-USA TODAY Sports

Iowa State announced that backup quarterback Zeb Noland is out for the season with a knee injury, as the team will now turn to Jacob Park as its second-string QB.

Noland, a true freshman, was projected to back up starter Joel Lanning in 2016, and was one of the top recruits in the Cyclones' 2016 incoming class. A three-star prospect, the 6-foot-3, 215-pound Watkinsville, Ga. native picked Iowa State over Toledo, Colorado State, and Florida International.

Iowa State opens its 2016 season against Northern Iowa on Sept. 3rd.
