Justin Tucker recently nailed a 69-yard field goal in practice and is confident he could do even better in a game - if the conditions were right.
In an interview with NFL Network on Thursday, the Baltimore Ravens kicker was asked about the longest field goal he'd be willing to try, and said he'd be comfortable doing so from beyond 80 yards.
"To me it doesn't matter where, I just have to hit a good ball," said Tucker. "If conditions are prime - like last season, we opened up in Denver, the weather was warm, the field was nice, you're up in altitude so the ball just carries and in pregame I hit the crossbar from 85. So if the situation is just prime, then maybe 84-and-a-half yards."
The NFL record for field goal distance is 64 yards (Matt Prater), while Tucker's career long is 61 yards. Both kicks took place in December 2013.
