Report: Lucroy able to block trade to 8 teams

Jonathan Lucroy may have the last word on where he winds up before the trade deadline.

The Milwaukee Brewers backstop has a limited no-trade clause in his contract that allows the catcher to veto a trade involving eight teams, reports ESPN's Jerry Crasnick.

Lucroy can reject a move to the Cleveland Indians, Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Angels, Minnesota Twins, Oakland Athletics, San Diego Padres, Seattle Mariners, and Washington Nationals, according to Crasnick.

Milwaukee reportedly asked all teams interested in Lucroy to submit bids for the backstop Thursday that met a minimum standard, according to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal.

Of special note in Lucroy's list are the Indians, who are the only club in the no-trade clause to have been linked with the 30-year-old recently. The New York Mets and Boston Red Sox have also reportedly shown interest in acquiring Lucroy ahead of the Aug. 1 non-waiver trade deadline.

The All-Star catcher is slashing .300/.361/.486 with 13 home runs in 93 games while throwing out 40 percent (32 out of 48) of would-be base-stealers this season.
