Report: Yankees looking to deal Nova next

Anthony Gruppuso / USA TODAY Sports

The New York Yankees are open for business.

After dealing closer Aroldis Chapman on Monday, the New York Yankees have reportedly made trading right-hander Ivan Nova their top priority, major-league sources told Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News.

Rival executives told Buster Olney of ESPN that the Yankees have been pushing Nova in trade talks in recent weeks as they try to land some sort of compensation for the impending free agent.

Nova has spent his entire seven-year career in pinstripes. He's split this season between the rotation and in the bullpen, going 7-5 with a 4.65 ERA and 1.32 WHIP in 93 innings.

Feinsand notes that the Miami Marlins have expressed interest in the 29-year-old.
