The San Antonio Spurs are discussing a one-year deal in the $10-million range with free agent shooting guard Manu Ginobili, reports ESPN's Marc Stein.

Ginobili tweeted last week he would return to the Spurs for another season, so the news comes as little surprise.

The 38-year-old averaged 9.6 points, 3.1 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.1 steals, while shooting 45.3 percent and 39.1 percent from deep last season. Ginobili played a key role in the NBA's best bench unit in 2015-16, posting a net-rating of plus-14.9 - good for second on the team.

With David West and Boris Diaw departing this offseason and Tim Duncan retiring, Ginobili may be forced to play a bigger role next year for the normally deep Spurs.
