Filling In Your Sunday MLB Lineups
Here are theScore's sample daily fantasy lineups for Sunday, June 19:
Cash Game with One Pitcher
POS | NAME | OPPONENT |
---|---|---|
P | Jacob deGrom (NYM) | vs. ATL |
C | Chris Iannetta (SEA) | at BOS |
1B | Hanley Ramirez (BOS) | vs. SEA |
2B | Derek Dietrich (MIA) | vs. COL |
3B | Jake Lamb (ARI) | at pHI |
SS | Carlos Correa (HOU) | vs. CIN |
OF | Franklin Gutierrez (SEA) | at BOS |
OF | Max Kepler (MIN) | vs. NYY |
OF | Michael Bourn (ARI) | at PHI |
DeGrom is the best bet for stable, top-end pitching because he gets to face the woeful Braves, but spending up for one of the most expensive pitchers means going cheap in other areas. Notably, it means leaning heavily on cheap outfield options; Gutierrez is a lefty-killer while Kepler and Bourn are so inexpensive that it won't take much for them to return cash game value.
GPP with One Pitcher
POS | NAME | OPPONENT |
---|---|---|
P | Jake Odorizzi (TB) | vs. SF |
C | Chris Iannetta (SEA) | at BOS |
1B | Miguel Cabrera (DET) | at KC |
2B | Jose Altuve (HOU) | vs. CIN |
3B | Evan Longoria (TB) | vs. SF |
SS | Jonathan Villar (MIL) | at LAD |
OF | Jackie Bradley Jr. (BOS) | vs. SEA |
OF | Shin-soo Choo (TEX) | at STL |
OF | Chris Young (BOS) | vs. SEA |
Odorizzi doesn't go too deep into games but his strikeout numbers are elite, fanning 74 batters in 78 and 1/3 innings, and the Giants' slugging against RHPs is below average.
The rest of the lineup prioritizes pedigree over recent streaks; every one of these hitters is capable of recording a two-homer or two-steal night with a handful of hits. There is no higher ceiling for a middle-infield tandem than that of the Astros' Altuve and Correa.

Cash Game with Two Pitchers
POS | NAME | OPPONENT |
---|---|---|
P | Jacob deGrom (NYM) | vs. ATL |
P | Archie Bradley (ARI) | at PHI |
C | Chris Iannetta (SEA) | at BOS |
1B | Paul Goldschmidt (ARI) | at PHI |
2B | Derek Dietrich (MIA) | vs. COL |
3B | Aaron Hill (MIL) | at LAD |
SS | Carlos Correa (HOU) | vs. CIN |
OF | Yoenis Cespedes (NYM) | vs. ATL |
OF | Matt Kemp (SD) | vs. WAS |
OF | Franklin Gutierrez (SEA) | at BOS |
Pairing deGrom with a cheaper option like Bradley makes a lot of sense financially, especially with the latter having an equally appealing soft matchup. Goldschmidt and Cespedes provide high floors while Iannetta, Correa, Kemp and Gutierrez all hit much better against LHPs, so they can be expected to perform slightly beyond their current salary slot.
GPP with Two Pitchers
POS | NAME | OPPONENT |
---|---|---|
P | Archie Bradley (ARI) | at PHI |
P | Jake Odorizzi (TB) | vs. SF |
C | Salvador Perez (KC) | vs. DET |
1B | Anthony Rizzo (CHC) | vs. PIT |
2B | Jose Altuve (HOU) | vs. CIN |
3B | Evan Longoria (TB) | vs. SF |
SS | Carlos Correa (HOU) | vs. CIN |
OF | Yoenis Cespedes (NYM) | vs. ATL |
OF | Ryan Braun (MIL) | at LAD |
OF | Shin-soo Choo (TEX) | at STL |
Perez has five homers and a .500 OBP over his last 10 games, so hope for his magic touch to continue. Longoria has five homers of his own over that same stretch. If the pitchers can play close to their ceilings, the rest of the lineup is packed with players with a combined 18 All-Star appearances and has enough potential to take down a tournament if things break the right way.
