U.S. international Hyndman makes Bournemouth move

Ahead of its second top flight season on the trot, Bournemouth has secured the services of U.S. international midfielder Emerson Hyndman.

Hyndman, 20, is out of contract at Fulham in the summer and was slated for a move after rejecting an offer for a new deal. The Cherries officially announced Hyndman's signing Friday.

The midfielder joins the south coast club on a four-year deal, and despite his contract expiring at Craven Cottage, Fulham will receive compensation.

"Emerson is a highly rated young player and already boasts international experience, so will be a welcome addition to Eddie (Howe's) squad," chief executive Neill Blake said Friday.

"We've moved swiftly in the window to secure Emerson’s signature and we are delighted to have finalised the deal to bring such a promising young talent to AFC Bournemouth."

The twice capped international joined the London side in 2011 from FC Dallas, making just 25 league appearances for the Cottagers after promotion from the academy in 2014. He is the grandson of former Dallas manager Schellas Hyndman, and is widely regarded to be one of the best young American football prospects.

A central midfielder by trade, Hyndman's strengths are in possession and passing, something that would benefit Eddie Howe's lot, who scored just 45 goals last season while conceding a league joint second worst 67.
