Marcus Rashford or Daniel Sturridge? Turns out there's room for both of them on the plane to France.

England finalised its squad for Euro 2016 on Tuesday, with manager Roy Hodgson naming both strikers in his 23-man team. Their inclusions coincided with winger Andros Townsend and midfielder Danny Drinkwater being omitted, as the pair were joined by Fabian Delph as the three men from the provisional roster to miss the cut for this summer's tournament.

Sturridge's inclusion comes after the oft-injured Liverpool star recovered from a recent calf ailment, an injury that ruled him out of England's friendly win over Australia last week. His absence opened the door for Rashford, and the 18-year-old, who was playing with the Red Devils' academy team a few months ago, took full advantage by scoring just minutes into his debut for the senior national side.

That performance, coupled with Sturridge's lengthy history in the infirmary, led many to suggest that it would be the Manchester United teenager who got the nod in lieu of the Liverpool star. Not so, as it turns out.

In midfield, meanwhile, is where the most unfortunate absentee resides. Leicester City's Drinkwater, who pulled the strings in the centre of the park for the Foxes en route to an historic and unprecedented Premier League title, will watch this summer's tournament from home. Arsenal's Jack Wilshere, supremely talented but perennially injured, is a favourite of Hodgson, and should play a significant role in the competition after getting the nod on Tuesday.

This, despite the fact that he played all of 142 minutes in the Premier League this season, returning late in the campaign after recovering from a broken leg that had kept him out of action since May of 2015.

Here is the Three Lions' squad, in its entirety.

Goalkeepers: Joe Hart (Manchester City), Tom Heaton (Burnley), Fraser Forster (Southampton).

Defenders: John Stones (Everton), Nathaniel Clyne (Liverpool), Chris Smalling (Manchester United), Ryan Bertrand (Southampton), Kyle Walker (Tottenham), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Danny Rose (Tottenham).

Midfielders: Adam Lallana (Liverpool), Dele Alli (Tottenham), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City), Ross Barkley (Everton), Eric Dier (Tottenham), Jack Wilshere (Arsenal), James Milner (Liverpool).

Forwards: Jamie Vardy (Leicester City), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United), Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool), Harry Kane (Tottenham).

England, slotted in Group B alongside Russia, Wales, and Slovakia, will play Portugal on Thursday in a final pre-tournament friendly.
