Dwight Freeney to visit Falcons next week

Dwight Freeney will visit with the Atlanta Falcons next week, following Wednesday's visit with the Cincinnati Bengals, the team announced.

Freeney has previously suggested he would prefer to return to the Arizona Cardinals, but he would consider playing "anywhere" as long as it's with a "winning team."

The 36-year-old had eight sacks and three forced fumbles while appearing in 11 games for the Cardinals last season. He's spent the bulk of his 15-year career with the Indianapolis Colts, where he sits second on the all-time franchise sack list.

Considering his advanced age, Freeney is expected to be used sparingly as a situational pass-rusher wherever he ends up playing. The Falcons could definitely use all the help he can offer after finishing 32nd in sacks last season.
