New York Giants cornerback Eli Apple's mom, Annie, will join the cast of ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown in September as a contributor, the network confirmed on Monday.

Apple will "offer player profiles and other stories" on the network's flagship NFL program, another step in the growing media presence of the mother of the 10th-overall pick who runs her own blog.

Since the draft, Apple has been talked about for stopping her son from wearing a diamond encrusted Rolex on draft night and for being gifted brownies by Roger Goodell after she called him out for the lack of snacks at draft festivities.

"I am beyond excited to be joining the ESPN family and to have the platform to rep sports moms' perspectives, energy, contributions and fantastic awkwardness to viewers around the world," Apple wrote in a statement. "Moms are the heart and backbone of all sports. We are our kids' first coaches, trainers, nutritionists and cheerleaders."
