Some NFL prospects go all out with their fashion choices on draft night, but Eli Apple's mother made sure her son wasn't one of them.
Annie Apple wrote a piece for Sports Illustrated in which she revealed that her son, who was drafted by the New York Giants, was prohibited from wearing fancy jewelry.
"Eli was offered Rolex watches and diamonds to wear on draft day. I told him, 'Dude, you're an unemployed college dropout. You will not be on TV with a Rolex,'" Annie said. "So we decided if he needed to know what time it was, he could just look at his phone. I bought him a portable charger."
Mom knows best.
