Kansas City Royals left fielder Alex Gordon is set to miss three-to-four weeks with a scaphoid fracture in his right wrist.

Initially diagnosed with a right wrist sprain, Gordon collided with Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas while attempting to field a seventh-inning pop-up by Melky Cabrera on Sunday against the Chicago White Sox. The collision sent Gordon spinning backward, landing hard on his wrist as his head also hit the tarp in foul territory.

The outfielder stayed in the game immediately following the incident, but was forced to leave a half-inning later.

"I was just kind of stunned," Gordon told Rustin Dodd of The Kansas City Star on Sunday. "Obviously, I just got my legs taken out of me and just fell down. I was just trying to gather myself, really. I thought I caught the ball, and then I look up and it's out of my glove."
