Andrew McCutchen fixed one of his errors.
After getting crossed up on an Anthony Rizzo screaming line-drive a day earlier, which netted him an error, the Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder apologized to official scorer Tony Krizmanich for saying he should be fired, according to Adam Berry of MLB.com.
He admitted his comments were made out of frustration, and he understands the scorer's job isn't an easy one.
The ball in question wasn't a typical line-drive with backspin. Instead, it appeared as though the ball knuckled, cutting through the air until it ricocheted off the glove of a sliding McCutchen.
Chicago got the last laugh, though, as the Cubs completed the three-game sweep with a 6-2 victory.
