Ambidextrous Venditte inspires epic graphic

You've got to give credit to the graphics editor at the New England Sports Network, who obviously knew enough not to assume which hand Pat Venditte, the Toronto Blue Jays' ambidextrous reliever, was set to throw with Monday afternoon at Fenway Park.

The 30-year-old started getting loose in the ninth inning of Monday's series finale as the Boston Red Sox pieced together a late rally, but ended up watching from the bullpen as Drew Storen struck out pinch hitter David Ortiz to stave off the late surge and secure a 4-3 victory.

Venditte, who was claimed off waivers from the Oakland Athletics in October, has made two appearances for the Blue Jays thus far, facing three batters while throwing with his right hand and another three while throwing left-handed. Not surprisingly, Blue Jays manager John Gibbons signals with both arms when he wants to summon Venditte from the bullpen.
