Many believe the Philadelphia Eagles are set at quarterback after signing Sam Bradford to a two-year deal in March, but head coach Doug Pederson may not be one of them.

Pederson is enamoured with North Dakota State prospect Carson Wentz and trying to find a way to land the top quarterback in the draft, Lance Zierlein of NFL.com reports.

"Make no mistake about it, I still think the Eagles first and foremost are trying to find a way to get Carson Wentz," Zierlein said on 97.5 the Fanatic on Thursday. "I know Doug Pederson loves him. I know that from people behind the scenes, in the know. That's who he wants and that's who he likes. It's just going to be tough."

It's interesting to note the Eagles' brain trust met with both Wentz and Jared Goff recently and are situated close enough in the draft (eighth overall) to either move up or take whichever quarterback falls to them.

The Eagles have situated themselves perfectly if they want to take a talented quarterback that needs to be developed. They have Bradford for this season and can release him with no cap hit in 2017.

Wentz, coming from a small school, is a prospect that likely needs seasoning and could benefit from sitting for a year while a coaching staff can work with him.
