Notre Dame's Greg Bryant leaves program, opens recruitment

Notre Dame running back Greg Bryant has determined his next move - and it does not involve the Fighting Irish.

The redshirt sophomore announced Thursday that he will reopen his recruitment while playing for a local junior college, ASA Miami, this season.

"Opening up my recruitment so my next move will be best move," Bryant wrote in his Instagram message.

Had my first practice with my new team ASA Miami today and it went great! They gave me a opportunity to wear #1 this season! I'll be keeping everyone updated with highlights and games. Opening up my recruitment so my next move will be my best move. Kinda feel like HIGHSCHOOL again getting offers and everything hahah. Highlights coming soon. ????

Bryant was declared academically ineligible for his junior season earlier in August after his father said that the running back received a B- instead of the B+ he needed.

The running back had reportedly already received a four-game suspension for an undisclosed violation of team rules.

With this announcement, the Irish have lost their second leading rusher last season, as Bryant racked up 289 yards and three touchdowns.
