The college football season has already reached the midway point, and there's been no shortage of highlight plays.

In case the first seven weeks were a blur, here are the top plays from each week to bring back some memories of the first half of the 2016 season.

Week 1

Averette's quick thinking leads to OSU touchdown

The first week of the season is usually chock-full of Power 5 programs beating up on weak Group of 5 or FCS schools, but that doesn't mean there aren't any worthy highlights. Oklahoma State may have destroyed Southeastern Louisiana, but the game still produced some high-quality plays. Linebacker Devante Averette displayed tremendous athletic ability, flipping the fumbled ball back to his teammate, all the while staying in bounds, resulting in a Cowboys touchdown.

Week 2

Controversial Hail Mary gives Central Michigan win

Where Oklahoma State was making highlights in Week 1, it was on the receiving end in Week 2. Playing an untimed down due to a penalty to finish the game, Central Michigan threw up one last prayer down three points, and it was answered. To make matters worse for Oklahoma State, it would later be ruled that the play should not have happened.

Week 3

Ohio State's Brown makes spectacular end zone catch

Ohio State in 2016 is loaded on defense, quarterback, running back and offensive line, but receiver is a bit of a question mark. In Week 3 there were no questions when receiver Noah Brown made quite possibly the catch of the year with an Oklahoma defender draped all over him. The touchdown was one of four on the night for Brown in the Buckeyes' rout of the Sooners on the road.

Week 4

One-handed TD catch seals Colorado win

It has been a wild year in the Pac-12, and Week 4 summed it up perfectly. Bryce Bobo's game-winning touchdown grab pushed perennial doormat Colorado into the spotlight, and began Oregon's 2016 demise.

Week 5

Tennessee's last-second TD caps come-from-behind victory

The first half of the 2016 season can be summed up by Tennessee's multiple comeback wins. Coming into Week 5, the Vols erased deficits of 14 against Virginia Tech and 21 against Florida - their first win against their rival in 11 years. But in terms of dramatics, their 17-point comeback win against Georgia on the final play of the game topped them all.

Week 6

Darnold's athleticism leads to USC score

USC got off to a very slow start to the season, going 1-3 and putting head coach Clay Helton firmly on the hot seat in his first year. But after handing the reins over to freshman quarterback Sam Darnold in Week 4, the Trojans have found some life. Darnold's Russell Wilson-esque escaping against Colorado has USC fans salivating over his playmaking capabilities.

Week 7

Nebraska's Brandon Reilly makes ridiculous catch from his back

Nebraska has shown some resurgence in 2016 after a disappointing 6-7 campaign in Mike Reily's first year in Lincoln. At the midway point, the Cornhuskers have already reached last year's win total, and are undefeated at 6-0. With plays like Brandon Reilly's against Indiana, there is excitement again for Big Red fans on the plains.
