NCAA Game Summary - TCU at Iowa State

Ames, IA (SportsNetwork.com) - Trevone Boykin rushed for three touchdowns, including the go-ahead score with 38 seconds remaining in regulation, as the TCU Horned Frogs rallied for a 21-17 win over the Iowa State Cyclones in Big 12 Conference action at Jack Trice Stadium.

Casey Pachall completed 20-of-36 passes for 245 yards and overcame a pair of interceptions to help the Horned Frogs (4-6, 2-5 Big 12) snap a three-game slide.

Grant Rohach completed only 18-of-38 passes for 148 yards for the Cyclones (1-8, 0-6), who suffered their sixth straight loss.

TCU's first score was set up by a fumbled punt that gave the Horned Frogs possession at the Iowa State 23-yard line midway through the opening quarter. Boykin capitalized on the turnover with an 18-yard touchdown run.

The Cyclones tied the score at 7-7 early in the second quarter on Sam B. Richardson's 15-yard touchdown scamper.

However, TCU answered right back with an eight-play, 69-yard drive, capped by another TD run by Boykin, this time from three yards.

Iowa State's DeVondrick Nealy returned the second-half kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown to tie the game back up at 14 apiece.

Later in the third quarter, Iowa State took a 17-14 lead on a 35-yard field goal by Cole Netten.

But the Horned Frogs would have the final say. Trailing by three with time winding down in regulation, Pachall led TCU on a 10-play, 58-yard drive in just under two minutes. Boykin punctuated the decisive drive with a one-yard touchdown plunge to put the Horned Frogs on top with 38 seconds on the clock.

TCU's defense limited the Cyclones to 283 total yards on the day, as Rohach completed only 47 percent of his passes while running backs Shontrelle Johnson and Aaron Wimberly combined to rush for just 67 yards on 29 carries (2.3 ypc).
