NCAA Game Summary - Texas at TCU

Fort Worth, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Case McCoy threw for 228 yards and a touchdown as the Texas Longhorns downed the TCU Horned Frogs, 30-7, in Big 12 Conference action at Amon G. Carter Stadium.

McCoy converted 9-of-19 passes and was intercepted twice on the night, while Marcus Johnson pulled in three receptions for 120 yards and a score for the Longhorns (5-2, 4-0 Big 12) as they won their four straight outing. Johnathan Gray rushed for 94 yards on 22 carries, while Malcolm Brown added 51 yards and two touchdowns on 17 attempts.

For the Horned Frogs (3-5, 1-4), losers of two straight and three of the last four, Casey Pachall finished with 139 yards and an interception on 13-of-34 passing. Trevone Boykin started at quarterback for TCU, finishing 3-of-4 for 24 yards but was replace by Pachall in the first quarter. LaDarius Brown caught seven passes for 87 yards and a touchdown. Aaron Green was their leading rusher with just 34 yards on six carries.

After their defense sacked Boykin, forcing a fumble which they recovered at the TCU three-yard line, the Longhorns gave the ball to Brown who ran it in for the score midway through the first quarter to open the scoring. After a 43-yard Texas field goal to make it 10-0, the Horned Frogs scored on their next drive as Cameron Echols-Luper hit LaDarius Brown for a 38-yard touchdown.

McCoy connected with Johnson on a 65-yard touchdown strike with just under 10 minutes to play in the half.

With 6:08 remaining in the second quarter, play was halted for three hours and six minutes due to inclement weather. Once play resumed, Texas kicker Anthony Fera added a 37-yard field goal as time expired in the second quarter to give the visitors a 20-7 advantage at the break.

Upon the completion of the second quarter, there was an abbreviated halftime that last just three minutes, with the teams remaining on the field instead of returning to their locker rooms

Texas tacked on another touchdown in the third, with Brown rushing for his second score of the night, this time a three-yard effort. Another Texas field goal with just under 12 minutes to play in regulation extended the Longhorns lead to 23 points.

Texas finished the game with 415 yards of total offense, compared to just 246 for TCU. The Longhorns forced four turnovers and held the Horned Frogs to just 45 yards rushing.
