NCAA Game Summary - Georgia State at Clemson

Clemson, SC (SportsNetwork.com) - Tyshon Dye ran for 124 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns as the Clemson Tigers blanked the Georgia State Panthers, 28-0, in non-conference action at Memorial Stadium.

Dye carried the ball 20 times and easily outran the competition which finished with a mere 40 net yards on 33 attempts. Quarterback Cole Stoudt converted 19- of-29 passing for 132 yards and a TD through the air as the Tigers (8-3) won for the seventh time in eight tries.

The Panthers (1-10), losers of 10 in a row since opening the season with a last-second victory over Abilene Christian, generated a mere 155 yards of total offense on the day. Signal caller Nick Arbuckle connected on a mere 13- of-29 for 115 yards, was sacked once and picked off three times.

All of the scoring took place in the first half as Dye posted rushing touchdowns of three and six yards in the first quarter in order to push the Tigers out to a 14-0 advantage. Both drives lasted less than two minutes and covered no more than 30 yards.

In the second frame, fellow running back Wayne Gallman got in on the act with a nine-yard rushing TD of his own, capping a six-play, 47-yard drive that used just 2:12 of the clock.

Late in the half Stoudt found Mike Williams with an eight-yard scoring strike and once more the drive, 53 yards on eight plays, clocked in at under two minutes as well.

The Panthers entered play on the day ranked 120th in the nation in rushing offense with a mere 95.6 ypg and dead last in the FBS with 43.8 ppg allowed.
