NCAA Game Summary - San Jose State at Nevada

Reno, NV (SportsNetwork.com) - Cody Fajardo accounted for 275 total yards and two touchdowns as the Nevada Wolf Pack earned a 38-16 victory over the San Jose State Spartans in Mountain West Conference action at Mackay Stadium.

Fajardo threw for 171 yards and a score on 20-of-27 passing and also rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown for Nevada (4-7, 3-5 MWC). Kendall Brock added 85 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries and Don Jackson had 80 yards and a score on 11 carries. Brandon Wimberly brought in 11 passes for 93 yards and a touchdown.

David Fales threw for 326 yards and a touchdown on 28-of-43 passing for San Jose State (5-5, 4-3). Chandler Jones led the Spartans with 77 yards on six receptions while Billy Freeman had 53 yards and a score on five catches.

Brock scored on a two-yard rushing touchdown early in the first quarter to stake Nevada to a 7-0 lead.

The Spartans took the lead before the end of the first quarter with a 47-yard field goal from Austin Lopez and a five-yard touchdown pass from Fales to Freeman.

Brock rushed for his second touchdown of the game, this time from one yard out, to thrust the Wolf Pack back ahead.

Lopez would add a 44-yard field goal midway through the second quarter to keep the Spartans within striking distance.

The Wolf Pack scored once more before intermission on a two-yard touchdown pass from Fajardo to Brandon Wimberly.

The Spartans closed out the first half with a 50-yard field goal from Lopez as time expired in the second quarter.

The Wolf Pack got a 39-yard touchdown run from Jackson and a 17-yard touchdown run from Fajardo to take a commanding 35-16 lead in the third quarter.

A 44-yard field goal from Brent Zuzo finished up the scoring for the Wolf Pack, who ended a five-game losing streak.

Nevada rushed for 311 yards while limiting San Jose State to 58 yards on the ground.
