NCAA Game Summary - Louisiana at Georgia State

Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Terrance Broadway threw for 234 yards and four touchdown to lead the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns past the Georgia State Bulldogs, 35-21, in Sun Belt conference action at the Georgia Dome.

Broadway completed 10-of-16 passes on the afternoon for Louisiana (8-2, 5-0 Sun Belt), while also rushing for 78 yards. Elijah McGuire rushed for 107 yards and picked up 125 yards and two touchdowns receiving on three catches. Alonzo Harris (79 yards, TD) were also effective on the ground.

For Georgia State (0-10, 0-5), Ronnie Bell was 19-of-34 for 229 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Albert Wilson (eight receptions, 57 yards, TD) and Keith Rucker (six receptions, 121 yards, TD) both had big days receiving, while Wilson also paced the team in rushing with 64 yards.

The contest began with strong defensive play that forced both offenses to go three-and-out on their opening possessions. Louisiana took a 7-0 lead as Broadway connected with McGuire on an 80-yard touchdown pass just over three minutes after kickoff. Neither side managed to produce any more points in the first stanza.

The Panthers responded just after the beginning of the second quarter as Travis Evans rushed five yards into the end zone to create a 7-7 tie.

The Cajuns went back in front with back-to-back scores as Harris punched it in from a yard out with just under 11 minutes left in the first half before Broadway completed a 50-yard touchdown pass to Surgent at the 2:21 mark of the second period.

Georgia State made it a one-possession game in the closing seconds of the first half as Bell completed a 42-yard throw for a score to Rucker. Wil Lutz sent the ensuing extra-point attempt through the uprights to send the Panthers into the intermission with a 21-14 deficit.

The Panthers evened the score at 21 with just over five minutes remaining in the third frame as Bell completed a 22-yard scoring strike to Wilson.

Louisiana answered as Broadway connected with McGuire on a 36-yard scoring pass that gave the visitors a 28-21 lead heading into the final quarter of play.

The Cajuns added some insurance as Broadway threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Jamal Robinson with just over eight minutes left in regulation. Georgia State turned the ball over on downs to conclude all three of its drives in the fourth quarter.

Louisiana gained 495 yards of total offense, while Georgia State was right on its heels with 481 yards.
