NCAA Game Summary - Texas State at Arkansas State

Jonesboro, AR (SportsNetwork.com) - Michael Gordon rushed for three touchdowns as the Arkansas State Red Wolves claimed a 38-21 win over the Texas State Bobcats in a Sun Belt Conference matchup at Liberty Bank Stadium.

Gordon rushed for 184 yards on 19 carries to go with the three scores for Arkansas State (6-4, 4-1 Sun Belt), which became bowl eligible with its third- straight victory. Adam Kennedy threw for 96 yards on 14-of-18 passing and had a touchdown to match an interception. J.D. McKissic brought in seven passes for 41 yards and a score.

Tyler Jones completed 17-of-28 pass attempts for 204 yards and two scores for Texas State (6-4, 2-3) which had a three-game winning streak snapped. Robert Lowe rushed for 86 yards on 14 carries and Ryan Carden had 42 yards and a touchdown on three receptions.

The Bobcacts got on the board first thanks to a 41-yard touchdown pass from Jones to Terrance Franks

Just over a minute later the Red Wolves tied the score at 7-7 with a 40-yard touchdown run from Gordon.

Franks pushed the Bobcats back into the lead with a four-yard touchdown run later in the first quarter.

Gordon scored on a nine-yard run early in the second quarter to get the Red Wolves back to even.

The team's continued to trade scores as Carden hauled in a seven-yard touchdown pass from Jones after which Kennedy threw an eight-yard touchdown pass to McKissic to keep the score tied.

After halftime the Red Wolves got themselves some breathing room with a 16- yard touchdown run from Gordon and a one-yard touchdown run from David Oku in the third quarter.

A 23-yard field goal from Brian Davis early in the fourth quarter further extended the Red Wolves' lead.

Arkansas State rushed for 328 yards in the win while Texas State had just 368 total yards.
