NCAA Game Summary - Central Michigan at Ball State

Muncie, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Keith Wenning threw four touchdown passes and Horactio Banks added 143 yards and a score on the ground as Ball State pounded Central Michigan, 44-24, in a rainy MAC matchup at Scheumann Stadium.

Wenning completed 20-of-29 throws for 299 yards, with Willie Snead hauling in nine passes for 118 yards and two scores for Ball State (9-1, 6-0 MAC), winners of seven straight since their lone loss at North Texas.

Central Michigan (3-6, 2-3) has dropped two in a row following consecutive road wins. Titus Davis caught nine passes from Cooper Rush for a total of 187 yards and a TD, making up most of Rush's 284 yards through the air.

Rush also ran for a score, but all three of the Chippewas' touchdowns came after they trailed by a 31-3 margin at halftime.

There was no looking ahead for Ball State prior to next week's crucial meeting with undefeated Northern Illinois, a game that will surely help determine the winner of the West Division in the conference.

The Cardinals went 75 yards in nine plays on their first drive and Wenning hit Jordan Williams for an 8-yard touchdown less than four minutes in.

It only took three plays to go 96 yards for another score later in the opening quarter. Banks rumbled 38 yards on the first snap, and Snead caught a 45-yard bomb before catching one in the end zone from 13 yards out.

Wenning and Jamill Smith hooked up on a 30-yard seam to make it 21-0 just 1:19 into the second quarter, and Banks added a 25-yard touchdown run just before halftime after both teams traded field goals.

Wenning and Snead connected for their second touchdown of the game late in the third quarter. The 1-yard score came between scoring runs from Zurlon Tipton and Rush.

Ball State's Scott Secor added the last of his three field goals in the fourth quarter, and the Cardinals rolled to their 12th straight conference win despite a late touchdown pass from Rush to Davis.
