NCAA Game Summary - Ohio at Buffalo

Buffalo, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Branden Oliver rushed for 249 yards and two touchdowns and Buffalo routed Ohio 30-3 on Tuesday night to remain in first place in the Mid-American Conference's East Division.

Joe Licata threw for 169 yards with two touchdown passes to Alex Neutz and an interception in the end zone and the Bulls (7-2, 5-0 MAC) got their seventh straight win since back-to-back losses to national powerhouses Ohio State and Baylor to open the season.

They have beaten their last four opponents by a combined score of 136-27 and kept a one-game lead over Bowling Green, which easily beat Miami-Ohio Tuesday night.

The Bobcats (6-3, 3-2) had a two-game winning streak snapped and fell two games behind the Bulls.

Ohio quarterback Tyler Tettleton left the game in the fourth quarter after passing for 126 yards. He was sacked three times. Derrius Vick threw for 38 yards on Ohio's final drive.

The Bulls scored 23 unanswered points in the second half after taking a 7-3 lead into the break.

The first two came on a puzzling safety call when Tettleton was penalized for intentional grounding while under pressure despite being three or four yards out of the end zone.

Buffalo extended its lead to 16-3 on Oliver's 13-yard run around the right side. Licata connected with Neutz on touchdown passes of 25 and 24 yards, the second making it 30-3 less than two minutes into the fourth quarter.

Earlier, the teams combined for seven punts to start the game before Buffalo linebacker Khalil Mack recovered a fumble by Ohio receiver Matt Waters, setting up the game's first touchdown.

Oliver squirted through the right side of the line for a 2-yard score to cap a 78-yard drive and give the Bulls a 7-0 lead early in the second quarter.

Josiah Yazdani kicked a 23-yard field goal with 37 seconds left in the first half for Ohio's only points.

Both teams were coming off a bye. Buffalo plays at Toledo next week and Ohio is at Bowling Green. Both games are on Tuesday.
