NCAA Game Summary - Louisiana Tech at Georgia

Athens, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Alex Hamilton scored 20 points as the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs held on for a 79-71 victory over the Georgia Bulldogs in the second round of the NIT at Stegeman Coliseum.

Chris Anderson added 18 points and eight rebounds for third-seed Louisiana Tech (29-7), which awaits the victor of Monday's second round matchup between top-seed Florida State and fourth-seed Georgetown. Cordarius Johnson and Kenyon McNeail chipped in 16 and 14 points, respectively. Michale Kyser helped the cause with six points, six rebounds and seven blocks.

J.J. Frazier netted 15 points to lead second-seed Georgia (20-14). Charles Mann tacked on 13 points, but also turned the ball over seven times and Brandon Morris tallied 10 points on 4-of-11 shooting.

Louisiana Tech was hot from the start, draining 52.9 percent from the floor in the first half, including a 7-of-12 effort from 3-point range. Georgia couldn't keep up, shooting at a 47.6 percent clip and missing all three shots from beyond the arc. Louisiana Tech led 46-27 at the break.

Georgia turned things around after halftime, netting 44.4 percent from the field while holding Louisiana Tech to only eight field goals. However, it got no closer than four points in the final 20 minutes.

Georgia was the superior team on the interior in the loss, holding advantages in rebounds (40-30) and points in the paint (42-32). Louisiana Tech forced 19 turnovers and blocked eight shots as a team.
