NCAA Game Summary - Grambling State vs. Jackson State

Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Terry Rose scored 22 points and Chandler Thomas added 20 points and 14 rebounds as 10th-seeded Grambling State Tigers defeated seventh-seeded Jackson State Tigers, 84-75, in first-round action of the Southwestern Athletic Conference at the Toyota Center.

Antwan Scott added 16 points for Grambling (4-23), which will next take on second-seeded Texas Southern in the quarterfinal round on Wednesday.

Julysses Nobles scored 28 points and Javeres Brent added 12 points for Jackson State (11-19), which never led in the game but had a chance late.

After Jackson State drew within 75-73 following a Jeffery Stubbs layup with 2:19 left in the game, Grambling responded by scoring nine of the final 11 points of the contest to pull away.
