NCAA Game Summary - Albany vs. Vermont

Guilderland, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Peter Hooley poured in a game-high 26 points to lead the fourth-seeded Albany Great Danes to a 67-58 upset victory over the top-seeded Vermont Catamounts in the semifinals of the America East Conference Tournament at SEFCU Arena.

Hooley shot 4-of-10 from 3-point range and 10-of-15 at the foul line for Albany (17-14), which will take on Stony Brook in the championship game.

For top-seeded Vermont (22-10), Clancy Rugg tallied 13 points and nine rebounds, while Luke Apfeld also netted 13.

Although Albany shot just 35.5 percent from the field in the first half (11- of-31), it still took a comfortable 35-19 lead at intermission by holding Vermont to a mere 29.6 percent shooting (8-of-27).

The Great Danes' advantage swelled to as many as 19 in the second stanza, and the Catamounts never got closer than seven.

Albany made good on 22-of-31 from the free-throw line, while Vermont was only 7-of-13 at the stripe.
