NCAA Game Summary - New Hampshire vs. Vermont

Albany, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Brian Voelkel recorded a triple-double with 10 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists, as the top-seeded Vermont Catamounts claimed a 77-60 win over the No. 8 seed New Hampshire Wildcats in the quarterfinals of the America East Conference Tournament at SEFCU Arena.

Clancy Rugg and Candon Rusin chipped in with 15 points apiece, while Sandro Carissimo and Luke Apfeld both scored 12 for the Catamounts (22-9). Vermont will play No. 4 seed Albany in Sunday's semifinal round.

Patrick Konan led all scorers with 19 points off the bench for the Wildcats (6-24). Jordon Bronner was next in line with 14 points, followed by Daniel Dion with 10.

UNH had the hot hand early on and led by as many as eight with just under eight minutes remaining in the first half. However, Vermont closed out the period with an 18-2 run to take a 35-27 lead into the break.

The Catamounts kept the pressure on in the second stanza as they shot a healthy 57 percent from the floor over the final 20 minutes to keep UNH at arm's length.

Vermont dominated the paint all game long to the tune of a 40-19 rebounding advantage over the Wildcats.
