NCAA Game Summary - Lafayette at Loyola-Maryland

Baltimore, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - Seth Hinrichs scored 22 points to lead Lafayette to an 84-71 win over Loyola-Maryland in the opening round of the Patriot League Tournament.

Hinrichs was 7-for-11 on two-point field goals and also went 7-for-7 from the free throw line.

Joey Ptasinski finished with 18 points on 5-of-9 shooting from 3-point range and Nick Linder added 14 points and five assists for the Leopards (11-19), who will face top-seeded Boston University on Wednesday.

Jared Jones scored a career-high 28 points and pulled down 10 rebounds off the bench and Jordan Latham added 10 points for the Greyhounds (11-19), who finished the season 1-7 over their final eight games.

Bryce Scott gave Lafayette a 24-22 lead with 6:06 left in the first half and the Leopards stretched their lead to six, 32-26, with 3:55 remaining. Loyola pulled within three, 34-31, following a pair of Latham free throws with 2:43 to go, but Lafayette closed the half on an 8-4 burst to take a 42-35 lead into the break.

The Greyhounds were within three, 55-52, when Jones knocked down a pair of free throws with just over 12 minutes left and remained within striking distance until a six-point surge helped Lafayette open up a 69-58 lead with 7:46 to play.

Loyola never got closer than eight the rest of the way.
